Hi all, my 1st post here,

Description: I run a PC with Windows 7 Home Edition (Legit!) and Ubuntu OS 10.04.

I came home the other day and turned on my computer and chose win 7, then all of a sudden I got a BSOD for less than 1 second and the pc goes into a restart mode. I knew I was in trouble. I tried the Safe Mode but it NOT go in, same result. I tried log in to last successful log in but same result. I tried going into repair pc but nothing. I tried restore to earlier time but it told me to "choose an OS and restart", but I can't do that or don't know how. It just keeps says that...

I then got a WIN 7 Ultimate disk from a friend and installed the win 7 but my win 7 code on the side of my pc does not work for that and it would not let me go into my other stuff now. I had to force shutdown and installed another copy of Ubuntu.

Now I had 3 Ubuntu OS and 2 Copy's of Win 7... One my Home Edition which I want and the other win 7 ultimate. I am in serious trouble here.

I just want to bring everything back to factory settings.

Could someone please give me some advice?
Thanks for you time,
Yan

Some additional information to study / consider.

After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to external media and want to start fresh with a clean installation or clean install with an upgrade version of Windows 7 have a look through the information below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

   Information

It may be a help to over-write the HDD Master Boot Record (MBR) before you start any other procedure using the diskpart clean command, rather than the clean all; it takes just seconds to complete so you will have "unallocated" space to use either the Windows installer to create and format the partition(s) or use diskpart to do that, however you choose.
If you want to completely wipe, over-write the entire Hard Disk Drive of any possible malware infection and / or to get the best possible space to do the install to or just for security purposes, have a look at these tutorials.

I made only a Win 7 64 Repair CD. I tried that but I seem to get stuck or the computer freezes... I downloaded an ISO from on-line and put it in my 8gb usb drive but I don't seem to be able to boot from it. All the options available to me seems to freeze.
