Windows 7 - on Gateway NV52
Xerox Phaser 8560

I am experiencing an issue with my 8560 Xerox printer where it is not printing blues. I have plenty of every color of the solid ink. Blues seem to be coming out Cyan, green or black. I have tried printing different programs, PDF’s and word documents and from online, but they all are doing the same thing. I tried adjusting the color manually, but still get the same results. I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue before where a color does not seem to print? If so do you remember how you corrected it?

I ran maintenance on the printer. Uninstalled and reinstalled. According to Xerox it is not a problem with the printer.

The only changes were the recent Windows updates.

this is a new issue. I did not have a problem with printing colors before. i have been running on Window's 7 since November 2009.

It sounds an awful lot like a bad or clogged printer head. Do a web search on how to clean a printer head.

If you think it is a Windows problem then go to Devices & Printers, select the printer, and Remove (uninstall) it. Disconnect the printer from the computer. Reboot your computer then reinstall the correct Windows 7 printer drivers and reconnect the printer. That should take care of any driver corruption.

Or old ink which has dried or congealed. A PC just sends info to the printer which in turn prints based on that data. If the printer has different colors, then the problem, I would think, is with the printer, ink, or carriage.

It should have a "toolbox" or something for diagnostics. Cleaning the print heads is a good idea. This will push ink out at higher pressure to attempt to get rid of dried or stuck-on ink residue.
