Solved Bluetooth Drivers Keep Reinstalling

Not every time but what seems like nearly every time I switch from battery to AC or visa versa the Bluetooth drivers reinstall (about 5 of them) and say "device is ready". The only BT devices I have at the moment are a wireless mouse and a portable printer which I seldom, if ever use BT.

Anyway to get the laptop to accept the current drivers without searching and reinstalling?

A similar problem, I mistakenly put my old Logitech Bluetooth dongle in a usb port (I no longer have any bluetooth devices). It automatically ran the Logitech Bluetooth Connection Assistant and of course never completes since it can not find any devices. Now every start up this stupid Bluetooth Connection Assistant pops up and sits there, I have tried every possible way to get rid of it and nothing works, msconfig, services, looked in the start menu, it is acting almost like a virus or malware now. Where have they buried the executing file? I even tried looking in a logitech .ini file and didn't see any clues as to where it is being called from.

I may post this in a separate thread but I thought I would give your thread a boost since it seems related. I will eventually try the Logitech forums as well. Thanks.

It's OK, misery loves company.

The only think I use Bluetooth for is a wireless mouse which works as BT is searching, downloading and installing drivers.

There has to be a way for BT to accept the drivers it has now.

I finally clued in that the only possible place this is being run from is the registry and I found it. Open the registry and search for lbtwiz.exe, you will find it under Windows => Run, it shows any others as well this is what helped me. It is there as lbtwiz.exe-silent. If I could specify for it to start minimized I would but I don`t know the commands. Maybe -min. I`m going to export the key then delete it should solve the problem. Also help here, http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1401-startup-programs-change.html, but still not sure how to know what other commands one can use other than -silent, has to be a list of them somewhere`s.

Oh this utility should only run once when you plug it in or when you press that little red button if you have a new device or it should pop via running a bluetooth discovery, something like that. So I blame that on Logitech that it gets stuck in registry to run every startup.

Here's what I found. Set to disabled. Hopefully it will help without eliminating searches for new hardware altogether.

I'll mark it solved for now. I woke it out of sleep (another time it would search for BT drivers) and all appears well. I just hope it doesn't screw anything else up.

There was a whole list of unconfigured settings in the internet communications group.
