I've seen many threads where you turn on Bluetooth and the Printers and Devices magically appear. I only have one Bluetooth service and it's on auto. I've tried the msconfig and turned off all other services. I've run the readiness tool. I've run the sfc /scannow more than 20 times and still have the corrupt files. Rebooted into safe mode, and tried every possible weirdo thing on multiple forums, microsoft sites, from so called experts. In case I did it wrong or missed a step I did it several times to make sure. This has gone on for over a year now.
Yes I rebuilt the PC, twice. I replaced the power supply as it was powering off randomly in the middle of projects. Concord Computers in Strathpine said it wasn't the power supply and charged me $40 to sit my PC for a week on their test bench, only to have it fail after 15 minutes when I got it home. I bought a new power supply for $30 and it has not powered off since. They also sold me a dodgy bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I don't buy from them anymore. But that was aside from the Printers and Devices screen being empty. I'm happy to post screenshots if that is possible.

I do wonder why there is only 1 bluetooth service on my PC? Everyone else seems to have 2.

Anyway, if anyone does have an idea, I can let you know if I've already tried it and if it solves the issue for the group that don't seem to fit in the standard fix bracket.

First of all, you don't turn on Bluetooth and then have items in Devices and Printers magically appear, at least it hassn't worked that way on any of the computers I've used Bluetooth devices on. Bluetooth devices need to be paired with your computer before you will see them in Devices and Printers.

First question, do you have a Bluetooth icon in the Notification Area? (Little arrowhead on the Taskbar that expands when clicked on). If you don't have that icon, then Bluetooth is not enabled on your computer.

Yup, tried all that

Thanks for the fast response. I have actually seen and attempted all of those posts on here, I've been 'guesting' for quite some time, just decided to join as the threads end with no solution, some are quite old, and maybe new solutions are out there.

Am I doing something wrong when I try them? Most likely, but I do have a go three or four times, and I repeat the solutions every now and again just incase one or more has changed "something".

I do only have one bluetooth service, while many state they have 2. There was a suggestion to install other bluetooth drivers but the site it suggested sells TV tuners and the choices of file download were not appropriate.

Please keep suggesting as something will fix it...Happy to share my most recent log files. Also, the results of the "sfc /scannow" results always fail, suggesting I have a .dll issue no matter how mant times I re-run it. There are no instructions to run the sfc at bootup so not sure how to run that possibility.

All help welcome.

Take it easy buddy, I'm not trying to grind you down. Take magically out of the sentence and read it again.

I'm not sure what blue tooth icon you are referring too, and I'm not even interested in blue tooth in the slightest.

If you have been following the threads, it appears that the Windows 7 OS provides a bluetooth service that is off by default, and by starting it and making it automatic, it resolves the 'Devices and Printer screen blank' issue, which is my issue, which is why I"m posting.

If you don't really know and are just trying to sound knowledgeable by asking patronizing questions to people you feel are inferior, then this thread is not likely of interest to you.

If you have a solution, ask away, I'll tell you what I see and know. I'd love to get this issue resolved.

I will ask away anyway :)

Did it work in Safe Mode and with another account? How about clean startup?
I don't have a Bluetooth service either, just the support service. But then again I don't have a Bluetooth device.

For SFC issues, run in elevated cmd: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
and attach here

Good luck with solving your issue. I'm completely flabbergasted by your attitude and response to my honest attempt to help you.

If you're not interested in Bluetooth in the slightest, why is the title of your thread "Bluetooth help, ..."

Hope you can keep from alienating any others that try to help. You are some piece of work.
