Thanks

You don't need a book to learn the OS. The best way, is hands-on experience. My company is made up of mostly non-tech savvy people, and they only needed about 10 days or so to get used to Windows 7. If they can pick it up quickly, I'm sure anyone else can.

When Windows 7 first came out, I purchased and read most of Windows 7 Secrets by Paul Thurrott and Raphael Rivera. It was pretty decent.

I actually like reading tech books, as they force me into areas that I otherwise wouldn't think of or wander into myself, and then I find features and functions that actually help me out down the road.

Don't forget Windows 7's online help.

Just click Start>Help and Support and type a keyword or question in the Search Help field for loads of good information on the basic tasks.

For example, I typed 'create backup' and got this:

Backup.JPG

With help like this and Windows Seven Forums, you should get all the help you need.

There's no substitute for diving in and using the operating system.

I made the switch from XP to Windows 7 and didn't read any books. Never touched Vista. The best way to learn is to jump in and start using it. Windows Help and this website is all I need.
