BOOT BCD problems

New member here. I'm having problems with dual booting windows xp x32 and windows 7 RC x64. I already installed both and are running perfectly. However just this morning I received a BOOT BCD error. It states that the error came from recently added hardware or software. I didn't install any new hardware but updated windows xp. Both worked fine last night. This is after I finished installing updates with xp. Now I repaired my windows 7 but can't boot to xp anymore.

Is there any way I can repair xp? I have installed my xp to my 160gb seagate (SATA1) and 7 to my 640gb wdc (SATA2). Also I would like to add that this is already my second time reformating both my HDDs. I would switch back to vista if theres no remedy to this problem.

There could be a problem with displacement of your XP Boot files. However. Go for the easiest solution first. Download a program "EasyBcd" (Free) from the web and , in the optional tabs, you will find opportunities to add other boot options, etc.
If you have problems sorting it, repost and someone here will surely help you with the rearrangement of your XP boot files.

Sorry for the very late reply. Just reformatted my 7 disk. I didn't reformatted my xp disk as it was still intact and functioning. Installed windows 7 and after a couple of reboots the same error occurs again. This didn't happened when I was dual booting vista x64 and xp. I tried the easybcd approach but it didn't detect my 7 boot file. It always boots to xp.

Now I think I came up to a conclusion that my SATA2 disk is having problems.(bad sector, hardware failure, etc...) But the problem is its only about a month old and this error did not happen when i was using vista. Any comments?

EDIT: Can someone tell me if this is the right way to dual boot? Here is how I will be doing the dual boot:
1. First configure my HDD in bios. First HDD to boot is my 160GB HDD SATA1 (xp disk). Second HDD to boot is 640GB HDD SATA2 (windows 7 disk).
2. Install windows xp in 160GB HDD (drive C)
3. Install windows 7 in 640GB HDD (drive D)
