I want to update the firmware on my SSD's. I have the FW updates in zipfiles on my desktop. I have active iso in my computer. How do I make boot capable cd's to flash the drives? I'm an amateur here, so take it easy, please.

Unzip download to a folder,open folder, see if there is file called makedisk.

Some company released the firmware updates. That very same company with about 100% certainty also released a document or software to apply the firmware updates.

Read the instructions VERY carefully and follow them perfectly, otherwise, the possible disabling of the SSDs could well result in you having some nice paper weights for your desk.

If they're working okay right now, there's no need to update them. SSD firmware is just about risky to update as flashing a BIOS, and the slightest problem can render them inoperable. I would only consider doing the update if you're having some kind of problem because you only get one chance to do it right.

Must install a paid for version of W7, so a sanitary erase is mandatory. The latest firmware updates add trim and garbage collection abilities, which help maintain the drives efficiency. There was a noticable drop just in the time RC1 has been installed, so........................
