Because I had to reinstall Windows 7, I reinstalled it in the same HDD but reformatted etc.

Now when I boot up I get to the Os selector screen, and there are 2 windows 7 options and then windows XP.

Is there a boot ini I can alter? and if so how?

If you use easybcd in XP, you need to have at least netframework 2.0 installed and you have to copy Sevens C:\Windows\Boot folder to XP's C:\Windows

Try a few different modes, because it should work. I don't think it needs a compatability mode from memrory.

boot.ini "repaired" in Windows 7 x64 Ultimate?

I just had a strange occurrence. I just rebooted after a routine CHKDSK, my first since installing Windows 7 x64 Ultimate three months ago. After my desktop was loaded and all my startup programs had finished their startup - a little notification box appeared with the word "boot.ini repaired".

After reading these posts I am aware that Win 7 doesn't have a boot.ini file. About a month ago I had a problem with my bootmgr file being missing and I recovered from that intact. I attribute that to a failed install of "Comodo Time Machine" ShadowMyth's Multiverse

and Only the incompatibility with file encryption software like True-Crypt put a dent in the otherwise interesting program.
Create And Restore System Snapshots With Comodo Time Machine - would Windows 7 ultimate be a culprit with Bitlocker?

after publishing this review and reading some of the user comments I recommend that you NOT install this program without taking an image of your hard drive first. Some good imaging freeware are Paragon Backup & Recovery, DriveImage XML, and Easeus Todo Backup. ] If you do not know what a disk image is then definitely stay away from this program.
