Boot Manager Is Corrupt - Help!

Boy, where do I start.
I had a duel boot linux and win 7 laptop and wanted to get rid of the duel boot and linux partition.
So before I muck this up my hard drive had 4 partitions, the first one was some win instillation file partition (1.7 gigs), the second was the win 7 OS (120 gigs), the third was the linux OS (25 gigs) and the forth was the linux swap partition.
Using a partition manager in windows, I deleted the 3rd. and 4th. partitions and resized the 2nd. partition (windows 7 OS) to take up the now freed up space.
I now have 2 partitions, the first and second.

When I rebooted, I got an error "Grub not found".
Grub is the boot record that linux uses to enable duel booting of two different OS's.
I figured that Grub had replaced the original win7 mbr when setting up the duel boot system. So I figured that if I just re-install the win7 MBR that it would fix the problem.

Here in lies a bigger problem, I am currently located 300 miles north of the arctic circle and do not have an optical drive in my laptop but I do have the win7 installation disk on a bootable thumb drive.
So when I boot off of the thumb drive and I go to repair the installation, it does its thing and says that the "boot manager is corrupted" - " click yes to repair the boot manager and restart" So I click yes and it reboots and noting, still no win7 boot.
I have also applied a system restore back to a few days ago and it said "restore complete" but when I reboot still the same thing "GRUB partition not found".

I figure that what ever the BIOS is first looking at it must be the old GRUB MBR and the linux and win7 partitions have changed so I does not see the now gone linux partition nor does it see the win 7 partition or something like that.

I some how need to tell the BIOS to read the Win 7 MBR and not the GRUB MBR (heck just delete the GRUB, that would be OK) and I need to point the Win7 MBR to Disk 0 partition 1 which is were my win7 OS is.

I can see the Win 7 OS on partition 1 and with command line and disk part I can get to the disk 0 and partition 1 which I have made active and I have used the Win7 install disk to repair the MBR. I don’t know what else to do.

I do have a different windows PC with me but I need the laptop running for my work too.

Any help would be great.

OK, the first part when well and it said that it fix the mbr on all drives, but now on reboot in stead of it saying "GRUB" is missing it say's "BOOTMGR" is missing.
I tried the second part of your post about the the system repair and did it like 4 times but each time it said that it could not make the repair. Now when I reboot it says the same thing "BOOTMGR" is missing.

Any thing else I should try?

OK, I got it fixed

I had to use the

bootrec.exe/rebuildbcd

then

I used the fix startup (system repair) on the installation disk.
