I have a a HP G62 laptop with Windows 7 that I am trying to repair for someone else. Some how the owner of the laptop destroyed the partition wall. So I reintalled the OS and now I am getting a black screen with the following reading: Boot Mgr Missing (CTRL, ALT, DLT for start uP) I am so lost with this one. Can someone please help me? When I reinstalled the OS it showed that all steps were taken and down to clicking the finish button but comes right back up with Boot Mgr Missing......
Do you remember where you installed it? You should have had a screen to choose during booted Custom install. Did you delete all partitions first? Is there a Recovery Partition which came preinstalled from factory which you could try running first?
If not it's probably best at this point to reinstall making sure you get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7
To try to repair the boot manager first, boot into DVD Repair console on second screen to run Startup Repair repeatedly. If it fails, try marking Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved partition (preferred if you have it) Active first: Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)
Are you using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?
