Solved Boot order incorrect

For the past 2 days, when booting, the screen shows a pic of the BIOS screen instead of a normal boot.

It says to press F1 for setup, but this does nothing.

I then go to BIOS and I see that it is set to boot from DVD drive, which is of course incorrect.

I change it to boot from SSD( which has the OS) and then a screen says

Repair . It then starts normally.

This started after I installed a 3tb HDD ( storage), although I can't see what that would have to do with that and is probably coincidental.

On the next boot, same problem.

Setup is same as BIOS. Pic should be full screen logo or some similar setting in BIOS, search for it.

Un-plug PC from the power mains, and change SSD to the first port (SATA-0 or SATA-1, check motherboard manual)
Go into BIOS and load defaults (either first screen or exit menu)
Set BIOS options (Boot order, SATA operation mode etc)

See if this will help

Already did all of that.

In BIOS, thee SSD only says "boot override" and I checked that and now found the "save' option.

It will come out of Sleep correctly, but not when booting.

In the BIOS, there should be a setting for "Full Screen Logo". Just set that to disabled to do away with the logo issue.

Boot order: if that motherboard has a UEFI BIOS (I believe it does) I bet you are changing the boot order while in "EZ Mode" by dragging the icons on the Main screen.
Try going into Advanced Mode, then to the BOOT Tab, scroll down to Boot Option Priorities, and set the system's drives in the correct order there. Save and Exit and see if the order sticks that way.

If it goes thru 'Repair' every time it boots, there may be a problem with your SSD. Can you see whether it fixes any records or show orphaned records ??

I'm already in advanced mode and the SSD is listed as boot override.

I'll change the port when I get home and see if it goes back to the way it was prior to installing the new 3tb hdd-which is when the problem occurred.

I didn't set it as boot override - it was originally set as boot # 1 and that is what it shows now.

There doesn't seem to be any way to move it to proper order.

I'm going to check the port and see if I changed it when I installed the 3tb hdd the other day.

I believe boot override is a one time setting.

I re-plugged the SSD into port #1 and went to BIOS and clicked "Boot Priorities" (which I didn't notice before) and it boots properly now and the SSD is set to #1.

In Dev Mgmt, it shows as disc 2 - it used to show as zero or one.

I ran Crystal disc Mark and the speeds are still as before and I also ran Start time and that is the same as well.

Should I be concerned about it showing as disc 2 or leave it alone?

Leave it alone. It means nothing in Windows, which has it's own methodology in identifying hard drives.
SATA drive order is not important like drive order was on old IDE controllers.
