Boot screen reverted to vista after repair

Hey guys, I hope this is the right section,

I had Grub and Kubuntu, then was done with linux for the time being, so i cleared the partition that it was on, and when i restarted grub was giving an error etc, so all i could find was my vista 64 cd, and after some reading on MS support pages, being that they used the same loader to fix it with that dvd.

So i ran this in the cmd prompt:

bcdedit /export c:\BCD_Backup
attrib bcd -s -h -r
ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

and everything was dandy, it fixed the loader.... but put the vista boot screen(the simplistic screen with the loading bar)

so i go access to my windows 7 iso, burned it, and re did the same process (but used the repair option first cuz it asked me and i figured it would be easier) and then ran the same commands to hopefully refresh the loader w/ the possibly newer windows 7 one(mainly for the boot logo)

but its still showing the old vista logo

i know this seems silly but how can i fix it back to the newer windows 7 one?

Welcome to the forums ....Try opening a command prompt and enter scannow/sfc ... see if this will help... if not, the simplest way may be a clean install of windows 7....

After some COD4 frustration relief(lol) i did some more searching and came upon this

The invalid and wrong boot screen for Windows 7 is due to missing locale entry in boot record, which failed to be set when editing or rebuilding the BCD. When locale is not found, Windows boot loader does not know which boot locale folder to look for the animated bootscreen. Thus, in order to fix the boot screen so that the boot screen can be reverted, restored or reseted back to original animated Windows 7 boot screen, just run one of the following commands in elevated command prompt with administrator rights: bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US
or
bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US
Change the en-US to the language version of the installed Windows 7, such as ja-JP, de-DE, es-ES, pt-BR, zh-CN, zh-TW, fr-FR, fi-FI and etc.
Restart the computer after running the command to see the new boot UI (user interface) be used again. To check if the locale setting has been entered properly, just run the bceedit command in command prompt that runs as administrator.

I had to put

bcdedit /set locale en-US

adding "user" which is my user name in the current spot didnt work(unless thats not whats supposed to go into the current field

But I am doing the SFC just as a precaution.

Open an elevated command promt and enter: bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US

Hopefully this will solve your problem..
