hello master2 of seven forums,

here i have a problem, which is my pc can get very fast on boot to windows, around 60 sec or less, but the main problem is, i must wait around 30 minutes before i can do anything, like browsing, start winamp, etc. because when i clicked, the PC will be frozen.

i can start task manager, and this is what i see on physical memory:
total 16345
cached 13280
available 13266
free 0

there is lot of available memory, but free was 0. is this the main problem?

btw, my rig is :

intel core i7-3770K 3,5 GHZ
16 gb ram
nvidia geforce gtx 550 ti
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

thanks a lot.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode? I would also try clicking "Start" then type msconfig in the "Search Programs and Files" box. Highlight it and hit "Enter". After that, go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all of the boxes. Reboot if asked and see what happens then. If everything suddenly works right off the bat then you know that something loading on startup is crippling your system. Re-enable them one-by-one and when the problem comes back you'll know the last one is the culprit. :)

I have no idea how turning off superfetch could solve that problem with the system specs of this computer.

Could someone please explain.

I would turn back on Superfetch which is an important feature especially on high end PC's, then properly troubleshoot the issue.

We have no replies to know what steps you've already taken. What works best here is interactive troubleshooting where we give you steps, you perform them and report back results or ask for more help to do them.

first time i got this issue, i know something is not right.
and then i try to get what's wrong. i search on the internet about freezing and lags, they said it might some app or some task eating a lot of memory. and then i just see task manager, but nothing wrong. all is good, no application got huge. then i realised there is another task manager, which is resource monitor. when i hit the memory button, and see processes, i see there is svchost.exe got huge about 700.000 kb on resource monitor which is doesn't appear on task manager.

then i trace back, what is this svchost up to. and find out that the svchost is linked with superfetch.
after i turned of this one, all is good. today i boot my pc with 1 mins or less before i go to main windows and can use any application.

hehe, thats my experience. all solved.
many thanks to sevenforums.
