ok long story short, lol, eventually and with stubborn persistence i managed to make the disc(bitdefender) and run it, it came up with
1 threat, from 1 item, still present in your system:
Gen.Trojan.Heur.P.@14@fyt8khbi

so i disinfected that and it was deleted. think that gives it the all clear..
i put the boot order back to how it was ( that was fun trying to figure that out, in order to get the disc to run in the first place lol)

was told to post results here also, just in case i needed expert help.

Bit Defender isn't a program we normally suggest here. Is there the possibility that some other forum made that suggestion.

Do you currently have any problems?

no i followed the link on here and that was 1 of them. ill double check that..

yea some1 on here gave me this link :

http://www.techmixer.com/free-bootable-antivirus-rescue-cds-download-list/

i had many probs trying to make a disc with all the others i tried avg first then kaspersky then bitdefender, i had probs trying to make a disc with all of them but stubbornly carried on doing exactly what was asked and eventually it burnt onto disc.
so what do u suggest? do a different 1, it seemed thorough enough.

Actually, theres nothing wrong with having the CD Drive boot 1st. This can come in handy if you should get a virus down the road and need to run a boot AV again.

When the system boots, if it doesn't detect the disk in the drive, it will move on to the next item in line.

If you think everything is clean, d/l & run a full system scan with Malwarebytes. It would also be recommended that you run a scan with Windows Offline Defender to be sure you got everything.

Warming: Trojan.Heur is a very malicious item that designed to allow remote access to your computer to largely occupy precious system resource, trace your Internet habits to record/steal your personal information.

dman,
Your system specs will be useful to those desiring to help you.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
For example:
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
this capability.

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
my problems started i think, when i downloaded a dodgy driver even tho it was from nvidia site ,, my laptop would only start in safe mode until i swapped to onboard graphics but the virus it seems came from a flashplayer i had downloaded, i usually only download from adobe but this was a link from somewhere,
so the system starts but i cant access many things that i should be able to..
it wouldnt let me create a recovery disc, i just kept getting error message : unspecified error (0x80004005)
so now ive made a bootable av and run that, and got the results i posted previously,
i did a scannow, this said i had damaged files but it could not fix some of them, i tried to access the log but it would no let me not even as 'net user administrator /active:yes'
and so this is pretty much where i am now

my laptop is Dell XPS L50 2X
i7-2630QM
64bit

origional reason for this problem was system freeze with this message

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Windows\system32\nvvsvc.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

dman,
Read that procedure I gave.

Carry out that procedure to the letter, crossing every T and dotting every i

If you do, then your system specs will show up when one clicks on "My System Spec" located under the column with your name, join date, etc.

Hi,

I'm a bit lost at the moment - what are we trying to solve? If I understand correctly BitDefender cleaned your system (its a good piece if kit that I have used with success before) - are there any other issues?

Regards,
Golden

yep my main issue is windows would only start in safe mode, i did manage to get it to boot semi normally by using only on-board graphics but still it will not load properly or let me do many things like access my internet as usual.. if i click on my browser it says i must chose a different path ... i do this and it loads a very basic version of my browser, with much missing,,,, i can only download in safe mode, cant use my nvidia card etc etc.. bit defender seemed to have identified that traojan heur and eliminated it and the windef bootable scan i did came up clear. but the 1st issue is still to be resolved.. at the moment im just trying to inch forward with each bit of info and advice im getting .... the help is much appreciated.
i think the idea is to bring it back to its original state but to do this i was told my hdd needed a clean bill of health, if any1 could help me carry on with this i would be most grateful, thanks D
