I see a lot of info on creating a bootable USB installation disk .
What I am interested in , is a bootable USB of actual Win 7 .
In case of hard disk boot troubles , I could use this to get in at least .
Seem to recall , years ago seeing such a thing .
Anyone ?
Thanks .

Thanks Paul Black and F22 Simpilot .
Very helpful info .
I actually just had a problem , after updating Avast . After restarting , I could not log into my account with "The User Profile Service failed the logon" .
Was imagining having to re-install and lose all .
Succeeded to do a System Restore .

Thanks AddRAM , I'm working on that .
Still , would a successful System Restore not be easier than a Macrium Restore ?

System restore is fine, but it depends on your drive being ok. If you have an image it can be restored to a new/different drive.

There are several free drive imaging tools. I recommend Aomei Backupper as the simplest to use.

Ther are several others, if you can be bothered checking them out.
