I got a message saying BootMGR is missing when i start up my laptop. I have no idea how to fix this, I'm using windows 7, I dont have a repair cd or anything. (using family comp atm its an XP) Any help?
If the family XP system has a cd writer or dvd burner installed for an optical drive you can download a cd image for the Windows 7 repair tools and burn it to a blank cd made bootable. The repair tools iso image is provided over at the Neosmart Technologies site.

You're Welcome! Just one thing to note here is I still haven't a chance to try that program out but it should run on the 64bit as well as the 32bit Windows in case you want to use it later.
The repair cd option is also found in the Control Panel>Backup & Restore section so once 7 is back up and running you can always go in to see another repair cd burned right there. You can also see about ordering a recovery disk from the manufacturer usually for the cost of shipping if the laptop doesn't already have the utility installed to create one.

How were you able to install Windows 7 in the first place without an installation CD? You must be having one somewhere. If somebody else did it for you then please seek his help.
What changes did you make in your Partitions or Files that the bootmgr suddenly went missing?
Please explain the problem in greater detail.

One thing to know about the Passcape program is that you download the program in zip file format and extract all contents into a new folder you can name Passcape. Right click on the Isoburner.exe file found there to create a new desktop shortcut. If you want you can right click on the shortcut itself and open the General tab to rename it to Passcape or use the backspace key to see the "isoburner.exe desktop shortcut" shortened to "Passcape" or "Isoburner".
The program will automatic reformat a usb flash drive which should be a small 500mb, 1gb or 2gb model for seeing a repair stick made up. The program when tested here for a larger GParted iso wrote the iso to a 2gb flash drive in under a minute's time as well as seeing the drive reformatted.
You should that work fast for you as well on the 32bit XP as well as the 64bit 7 here. Once you have a cd burned or a repair stick made up follow the guide gregrocker pointed to there. It will often take more then one try with the Startup Repair tool often twice here while 3 times will insure results.
