Brand new build, BSoD with bccodes F4 and 7A

Hey all, this is my first time posting on the forums, so don't mind any bad etiquette. About 3 weeks ago I built myself a new computer for the first time. The installation went smoothly and everything worked perfectly fine. For the first two weeks, no errors in sight. I was playing games such as Bioshock Infinite (bloody great game btw) and Metro 2033 without issue. Then, a few days ago, my computer BSoD while playing through Bioshock. It went by rather quick so I couldn't read the error screen, but after a prompt reboot, everything was back to normal. After researching the error code (F4), I made the assumption it was my graphic driver. I reinstalled it and went back on my way. Since then, I've had three more BSoDs, each with codes differing from F4 and 7A. During these three times, I wasn't gaming or doing anything extensive, so I don't believe it's my graphics card. I found this site and hoped that someone out there could properly help me. I attached below my diagnostic zip.

My temperatures have stayed insanely low (CPU only hitting 45 Celsius on load, GPU reaching 55 Celsius). Any help will be greatly appreciated. I apologize again for any improper etiquette, I'm here out of panic!

I ran all those tests the moment you sent them, and came up with nothing. However, I didn't get another blue screen, so I assumed something had been fixed, that is until now. I just got another one, this time with the error code F4. I am uploading the new minidump, as well as the screenshot you requested. Thank you for your assistance.

I ran a quick scan and came up with nothing, I am currently 15 minutes away from completing the extended test.

Alright, what about memtest and the 124 guide?

With the memtest, I only gave 5 passes for each one and didn't get any issues. However, I realize now that may not be enough, so I am gonna run another one tonight, allowing it to get up to at least 10 passes for each stick. I ran stress tests on my video card and processor, both passed with flying colours (my processor stayed at a very cool 65 degrees for most of the tests!). As for the 124 stuff, I have done everything except for the aforementioned correct memtest, as well as I haven't done a clean install of Windows, as I feel thats a drastic measure for right now. From what I've seen, I'm lead to believe that the issue is memory based. I have written a list of times I have had blue screens and what I was doing:

1. Playing Bioshock Infinite on max settings
2. Video skyping while web browsing (Google Chrome)
3. Nothing at all (on the desktop)
4. Immediately after booting up the machine and trying to open an application.

I think it's interesting to note that inbetween these blue screens, I have played countless games and skyped for many hours without issue. The blue screens seem to be completely random, sometimes happening at power extensive times, sometimes happening on very light loads. This problem seems to be more annoying then anything. Is it possible this is a software issue? Would a complete reinstall of Windows be necessary?

I unfortunately do not have another hard drive I can use for testing. (Side question, if I were to get a new hard drive, would my Windows license transfer over? How does that work?). Is there any way I can further test my hard drive without actually getting a new one?

I unfortunately do not have another hard drive I can use for testing. (Side question, if I were to get a new hard drive, would my Windows license transfer over? How does that work?). Is there any way I can further test my hard drive without actually getting a new one?

The license key will be part of the motherboard now, since you have a System Builder key.

Have you tried using a different SATA cable (if you have any), or changing to different SATA port on the motherboard?

Okay I ran a memtest all night long, got 15 passes with no errors. I am now surely convinced that it is in my fact my hard drive giving me grief. I haven't tried a change of SATA cables, just to be clear before I do try it however, it wouldn't be the power cable, correct? Only the cable connecting the hard drive to the motherboard?

The red cable is the SATA cable, and yes, the SATA cable would only cause a I/O error. A power issue wouldn't be so specific.

Make sure to change the SATA ports too if it crashes.

Just an update, I changed the SATA port that the hard drive was plugged into, but not the cable. Rather then putting all my eggs in a single basket, I would like to test if it's just the port or the cable itself. If I get another blue screen, I will post details here, and then try a completely different cable.

No, you should never have I/O errors on a working machine. Post back if you have any BSODs or would just like to mark the thread as solved.
