Solved Brand New Win 7 laptop prevent windows 10 nagging

After several days of searching, I finally found a laptop that comes with Windows 7 installed.

My question is:

When I first turn on the machine and start Win 7 is there a way to immediately prevent Windows Update from installing the Windows 10 nagger?

Hi,
Avoid Recommended updates unless they address a issue you face
Very simple just change your windows update setting to Exclude them from being mixed up with real Important updates,


Use this to disable upgrades,

This registry key will stop Gwx from starting at boot:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Gwx]"DisableGwx"=dword:00000001To create this:

1. Run regedit.exe as an administrator.
2. Create a key named Gwx within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\.
3. Create new dword value, named DisableGwx, with a value of 1.
