I fell for it also. But the worst part is, now I have a craving for a candy bar, but I don't have any in the house and the closest store is 15 miles away.

Growing up we had penny candy stores and yes a penny got you a good amount of candy! What wonderfully simple days in the early to mid sixties.

My favorite way to spend a nickel was to buy the bubblegum and baseball card packages. When I think back on some of the names on the cards I use to get I really wish I had kept them in mint condition as they would be collectors items now and worth a few dollars.

I was caught by the thread name too.. cute idea.
We had an old grocery store 1/2 block away.. you could load up with all kinds of candy
for 15 cents, that guy had at least 40 or 50 kinds way back then, along with all kinds of gum.
