Bridge issues

Usually I use a cable from the router to my pc, and bridge it with a cable from the pc to the xbox and everything works fine. However trying to do the same but with a wireless connection from the pc to the router seems to cause problems.

The internet will work fine, until I bridge the connections then the internet will no longer work. It will say "connected" in the network connections screen, however when I go to the wireless connections screen it says Not connected, but it says I can only disconnect, meaning it's connected in some way.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Luke.

Check your firewall settings for the wireless connection.

If your router is out of ports you would be better off getting a switch and plugging into it instead of using a bridged connection.

I'd recommend this as well. You'd get better overall performance, too.

I used to use a similar setup on om PS2.
I have NO clue how i got it to function properly. I believe I went in and set a static ip on the PS2. For some reason windows looks to the Ethernet for internet before the wireless card.
It was once explained to me that its not possible since wireless uses a half-duplex connection instead of a full duplex. I proved them wrong. I could have someone playing a game on the ps2 online while I was playing counterstrike online. May of hurt my ping a little just not much. Let me know what happens.
Bridge the connection and reboot the pc. That may work. (I know there was a reeboot someplace after the bridging process)
