Hi Guys!I am using a SONY VAIO VGN-CS36GJ,in which recently i have installed Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) OS.I have download and installed all the required drivers for my Model from Sonyasia.com
Everything is working fine.Even the 'Fn+f2/f3/f4'keys are fully working right exept the problems in the 'Fn+f6' i.e 'Brightness increase' and 'fn+f5' i.e 'Brightness decrease' keys.Whenever i use these combination keys from the keyboard the bar goes up and down only by one unit. And my screen is constantly at its full brightness condition.
Furthermore my 'Windows mobility center' is also not showing any 'Display-Brightness' option from where i can increase/decrease the brightness.
Sony told me that 'Sony shared library','Setting utility series','Vaio control center','Vaio event service' drivers are respnsible for controlling the keyboard keys in the laptop. These are already installed but to no effect.
Furthermore,my laptop has 'NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS' graphics card.
Please help me out. Thanks in advance!

If you go into the Power Options, can you adjust the brightness there?

Control Panel | Power Options | use Screen slider at bottom

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
What I'd do is uninstall ALL of the Sony software, at least, disable the sony stuff in the startup tab of MsConfig.

The brightness controls available thru Win 7 are quite sufficient. With WIN + X you can change the setting at any time for your present session. To make a permanent change, you only need to click on the Display Brightness icon there.

I have a Toshiba laptop and I have an ASUS netbook. This is the approach I followed with both of them.

Maybe I should have clarified:
Hold down the WIN key.
While holding down the WIN key, hit the X key.

WIN is the key with funny looking wavy flag on it.

IF the WIN X combo does not work, then you have an unruly program installed which has "captured" this WIN key combination. The unruly program should be removed immediately.

That said, try following:
Click on the START orb located at the far-left of the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
Type in the search box Windows Mobility
Hit the ENTER key
