Broken/Corrupted Windows Update

I somehow managed to destroy windows update. it cannot find updates anymore. Ive gotten 2 error codes: 80248014 and (not sure) 80073712. I have tried using a program i found on the windows club that was supposed to fix it but didnt, i tried the System Update Readiness Tool, but it failed. I also read somewhere on this site to delete the softwareupdate folder contents, which i did, but that didnt do it either. what else can i do?

i forgot that i used fixit too. i tried it again. i got error 80073712

Have you tried using System Restore?

unforunately, i dont know when it started, and even if i did, diskcleanup has erased all of my system restore points

Not to worry We'll try another way:

SFC Scan

1. Open your start menu and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each
   
   sfc /scannow
   
   Wait for this to finish before you continue
   
   copy %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log %userprofile%\Desktop\CBS.txt
   
   
4. This will create a file on your Desktop called CBS.txt, please upload this to Mediafire:

Thanks! Unfortunately, the first link does not work, so i tried to find the dotnetfx3.0. When i did, and tried to install it, it said that i needed to turn net framework ON in Windows Features, so I did. It didnt work. Restarting didnt work either.

Also, 3.0 and 3.5 are not installed. I have net framework 4.0. should i uninstall that first?

You only have v.40? If so, then go ahead and uninstall that. Then reinstall it from that link:

I think that the best option for you is to try a repair install:

You've got too much corruption to deal with so let's see if Windows can replace the files for us.
