Brother HL1440

[Wallify]

I can't seem to get my Brother 1440 to print using 7. It works for others in the office using vista, but I can't make it work with 7 installed. I keep getting a message saying that no drivers are installed. I DL the driver from the brother site and unzip the file. They go to C/users/wallify/appdata/temp (or something similar). It is 8 files total.

Any ideas?

the driver needs to be insttalled not copied. double click on the setup (or install) file. If there is no win 7 driver the vista driver can be installed in compatibility mode.

Their isnt an install file, its just 8 files zipped. I extracted it to that c/users ..... and thats all it does. No .exe in the lot of them. It is a vista 64 driver by the way. I read on here that many of the vista dirvers work in 7 as well.

Yes, a lot of the vista drivers will work for windows 7 when installed in Vista compatibility mode .. this is what you need to do for your printer...

Ran in compatibility mode for vista64 sp 2. It unzips the files in the same place, with the same result. I would assume their is supposed to be an install file in those zipped files, but all I have are
