Browser bookmark management

Hello
Is there any software program I can use to sort Opera and Firefox bookmarks, duplicate & dead link ect ? Its getting hard trying to remember and keep track of which browser bookmarked a website. My laptop running windows 10 and Win 7 these use FF and Opera, desktop pc same setup. This is 8 browsers I am trying to keep upto date and track of. I have seen a couple of sync programs where bookmarks have to be uploaded somewhere, this isnt what I want. Plan would be to be able to import FF and Opera side by side, make 1 good copy\backup then export this into the browsers I have, this way knowing everything is the same across all browsers.

Hi Smokes,

I just noticed that you haven't had an answer as of yet so I thought I would see if I could help.
Out of interest, why are you using 8 browsers, are you doing some testing or such like?
Why would you want all of the 8 browsers to contain the full list?
Are you saying that if you add a bookmark to one browser, you have to open the other browsers and add it to them too?
I am just trying to understand the logic of what you are trying to achieve in order to be able to help!
Basically, I suppose it depends on what format the exported bookmarks are in. i.e., FireFox exports in HTML etc.
Can you not export them, copy them to an editor, sort them, and then re-import them back?
Could you not setup a master file on the desktop for example and have that open so you could just click the link to open it. That way you only have one file to update and contend with?

Should there be no specific program to manage bookmarks, then how about using a Word Processor to make the transition yourself?


Option 1
If you could export the bookmarks to HTML files from all your current browsers, then you can open the HTML files with a word processor and cut and paste a list of bookmarks into one maintanable bookmarks file. Import the maintainable bookmarks file into each browser and the browsers should soon be consistent.


Option 2
Alternatively, another suggestion would be to export HTML files from each browser and import each HTML file into one browser only. When this done, you edit the bookmarks until you are happy with the set. Export the finished result into another HTML bookmarks file, and import the bookmarks file into each of your browsers. How does that sound?
Note: Exporting bookmarks from a browser does not delete the bookmarks you previously saved.
