Hey there.

Apologies if this isn't in the right place, feel free to move this if need be. I've been having this issue with my laptop for the past few days, and can't work out what it is. I figure it's some kind of malware. Upon starting Chrome (my default browser - haven't tried with any others) it directs to mixidj.delta-search.com or something along those lines, which is similar to a google search page, but with annoying ads. I googled around for removing it and uninstalled anything to do with it from the add or remove programs and changed my homepage back to google in the settings. I have done a quick scan with malwarebytes and got a result of a bug called PUP.ibryte of which I've also removed.

Any ideas what's going on or what else I can do to sort this out?

Thanks!

Thanks. I've used AdWareCleaner which seemed to find and delete a certain amount of things, and my browser seems fine for the moment, but my internet's going really slow. Anything I can do to find out if there's still something affecting the system?

I've noticed that this is only slow when using wireless, and works at a reasonable speed connected to the ethernet. Is there anything I can do for this? I've done a system restore to a previous date before the malware infected my laptop, but it's still running slow on wifi.

Maybe the apparently slow wifi is not connected to the malware problem (which I also suffered). It is normal for wifi to be a bit slower than ethernet. What is the difference in speed? Have you recently moved the laptop to a position where its wifi signal is not so good? Maybe the router is not outputting a good wifi signal anymore; move the laptop close to it and check the speed. Try using a different computer with wifi at the same spot the laptop is - to see if the laptop's wifi receiver is at fault.
