Browser goes to old website despite redirect in place

HP DV6 Windows 7 all updates


A website I use has recently set up a redirect to an updated version.


On my phone (Android, Chrome) the redirect works fine


On my main PC (windows 7) the browser goes to the old website
I've tried 3 browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Opera) and all do the same thing
I have cleared the cache on each browser and reloaded the website but no change

I have flushed windows DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns) and tried again but they still go to the old website

I have another windows 7 PC that I rarely use and this redirects OK

So how can I get windows to ditch its saved copies of the old website IP address?

Seemed that restarting the PC was necessary step.
So

Clear Browser cache
Ipconfig /fliushDNS
RESTART PC
and redirect works fine.
