Solved Browser locking up with Silverlight Configuration.exe

Browser IE11. Kaspersky Internet Security 2015

Am trying to log into my PayPal account but each time a window opens: "A website wants to open etc..."
website: Microsoft Silverlight Configuration.exe. Browser just locks up. The only way I can close this is through Task manager.

Assistance appreciated please.

Hi,
Not sure why Silverlight would be needed here ?
Gear symbol and Manage add-ons
Toolbars and extensions and disable Silverlight and close.
Hit the F5 key to refresh the page and try again.

If you don't use Skype you can also uninstall Silverlight.

Silverlight was not listed in toolbars & extensions.

I noticed that security was highlighted in msg. box so entered Internet Options>Security and un ticked Internet. This worked

Hi,
The only option to uncheck in internet options and security is use Protection Mode which is not a good thing to uncheck :/

Silverlight is a windows update which might show up in Uninstall a program or View installed windows updates
I'd uninstall it rather than unchecking protection mode.

I require Silverlight in order to Sky GO and recording Sky programmes remotely.

I have Kaspersky which monitors.
