Haven't been able to boot in safe mode yet. Will not react when I press F12,

Now I stand to be corrected but usually safe mode is brought up with power on and tap F8 - maybe it is different with the machine you are working with.

Now the processes did you check those yet and also what Roy has asked plus personally like the other am not a fan of "aftermarket" softwares for tune up etc .

One malware you could try is this
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If you are running Kaspersky as the main AV then it might need disabling it when trying ADW because it does not like it at times)

Ok, I answer some questions and post some screen shots that were asked for.

Ans: Yes, deleted what Malwarebytes found.

Ans: As far as Reg Editors/Tune Up programs go I ran CCleaner and let it correct what it found.

Today I ran Adware and it found 56 items. I let it correct them all.

The longer the computer runs the slower it gets. Just wanted to point that out.

Here's a message I've been getting since we started this process.



Here's a shot of what Windows Defender found today after a re-start. When I looked at the details it was the same weird alphabetic name that Malwarebytes found yesterday.

I for one would seriously consider a clean install
I would also not create the media on this machine

Yep I agree with Thrash Zone as there is a lot of bloat on your machine judging by what you ticked in the Start up tab - personally I only ever keep the AV and the CCleaner check ticked because I don't need all those Toshiba services for example starting up on my old Toshiba as they can be accessed after the machine is booted.

But clean install is going to get rid of the bloat anyway.

I would suggest though you first download some of the Toshiba drivers to a stick for example ones for the LAN WLAN and Blu tooth - that saves a lot of time getting them after the clean install.

Edit Ray I did mean to add that when you go looking for drivers etc for a Toshiba it makes it a lot easier if you quote the PART NO on the bottom of the machine because it relates to where the machine was made for. See pic

Sorry for the late reply. A Windows CD did not ship with my computer. When I went to MS to download Win 7 I put the Key in that is on the back of the laptop. MS came back with a message that referenced me back to the Mfgr saying it was a distributed copy.

So how do I obtain a copy of Win 7 to do a new install?
