Hello, I have Windows XP installed in a partition and Windows 7 installed in another partition. Why can't I browse the XP partition from 7, but I can browse the 7 partition from XP? Can someone please help me out. I have to do a fresh install on the XP partition, so I would appreciate any help.

Hello Danny, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The XP partition may not have a drive letter assigned to it in Windows 7 Disk Management. You can use the same tutorial below in Windows 7 to add a drive letter to the XP partition to have it show up in Windows 7.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3741-hard-disk-partition-letter-missing-windows-7-fix.html

However, you may want to use the tutorial below to hide Windows 7 from within XP to prevent XP from deleting your Windows 7 system restore points everytime you start the computer in XP.

System Restore Points - Stop XP Dual Boot Delete - Vista Forums

Hope this helps,
Shawn

The problem is that I can't boot into XP because I got the blue screen of death. Thats why i wanted to move some folders over to windows 7, that way i can do a clean install without losing too much data.

Is the partition marked as active?
Also, it looks as if your permissions are set so you cannot access D:
Take ownership of the drive or give yourself permission to access it.
