I have a problem where I keep having the BSOD with the 0x0000009F error code saying that the file "ntoskrnl.exe" is the cause. I haven't been able to find any solutions which seem to work, I tried to update my drivers but that didn't work. My problem seems to be at random times, sometimes when I try to open a game or when I'm not doing anything. And since 'm not that great at solving computer problems I dont have any idea what to do. If anyone can help me to solve this problem, I would be happy to hear from you.

My information

Windows 7 is
- x64
- original installed OS
- an OEM

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
I bought my laptop in the summer so i think it is approximately 7-8 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
I did not change this so about 7-8 months.

Ok I have done these 3 things, I uninstalled avast! before I made this post but I still had a map with a setup file in my program files map, don't know if I had to but I deleted it anyway. And I did the scan and it found nothing. If I get another BSOD with the BIOS update I'll post the info again. Anyway thank you for replying so soon.

Now I have a new problem: I can't turn off my laptop properly. Every time I try to turn off my laptop it stays on the shutting down screen and after a few minutes I get another BSOD. I tried to do the test again but halfway through I got another BSOD, any ideas?

And while searching for them I found out that the minidumps that I have only go up to 3-1-2012 (dd-mm-yyy), so I can't give you them.

After the day that I couldn't turn my laptop off decently I have had no trouble with anything anymore; I can turn my laptop off normally again and I haven't had a BSOD since (and I can game normally now, with would deteriorate over time first). If this changes again I will post a new thread.
