Machine randomly BSODs. I was applying an Nvidia drive update for the 560 today and it BSOD'd, though the driver looks like it installed cleanly.

Other instances of the BSODs was while I was playing Freelancer and while I was creating a character in EVE. I've had it crash without fail when I was installing Server 08 on a virtual machine running in VMware Workstation.

I uninstalled Asus SmartDoctor today as it seems to have been keeping my GPU's fan RPM set to 1%. I couldn't really read the temp settings it was displaying as it wasn't clear - one said 30ish the other said 90ish. The 90ish makes me believe that perhaps it was a cooling issue on the GPU.

Just installed Nvidia System Monitoring tools - says the GPU is around 40 degrees. I'm going to run EVE and see what it does. If any of you mind looking at the BSOD files that would be great.

A stop error of 0x124 is a general hardware error .
A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress
Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP.
Return to the default settings at least for now.

If you are running a RAID update its driver.
