Just use the steps for copying files in the recovery environment. Your external should be listed in Windows explorer.

Writhziden,

Everything was going great on the fresh install. The ssd was booting fine. I installed a lot of windows updates, and all my Mobo drivers. I haven't yet plugged in the Data HDDs. But while I was installing 8 windows updates, all having to do with .NET Framework 4, I got a BSOD. They failed to install because the comp crashed, but I was able to get a MiniDump file from it. I attached it. Can you take a look at it and tell me what caused that BSOD? Should I install these Windows .NET updates? Because I think that's what cause it since everything was running smoothly. Here's my minidump.

Thank you!
Twistedben

You received a CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION crash due to the Windows process csrss.exe terminating unexpectedly. This typically indicates hard disk data corruption, hard disk errors, or hard disk controller issues. It can also be caused by viruses.

When the crash occurred, had the installation started, or was it during download? Your wireless card drivers are out of date, and you should install the latest drivers for the device from Ralink or whoever the manufacturer is for your card (RT2860).

The crash was during installation, it read 3 out of 8 installed, and then crashed. At that time, I hadn't gotten around to my WLAN drivers, but they're okay now. The fresh install seemed to fix everything besides when I boot OCCASIONALLY I get the startup repair error, and then it goes through Startup repair only to say "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automaticcaly." I'm beginning to think my SSD is faulty?

SSD technology is fairly new, so there could also be a hardware conflict. The best way to find out would be to RMA the drive and see if a new drive has the same problems. If it does, that would mean there is likely some hardware in your system or a device driver that is not working well with the SSD. Do you have any Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers installed. They are usually listed under the SATA drivers in the motherboard support downloads and can sometimes cause conflicts with SSDs.

I agree about the RMA. I do have Marvell but I do not use those controllers or drivers.

Alright, proceed with the RMA if you feel it is time. You can always make double sure by installing a regular HDD and seeing if the problems persist, but it is your call since you know how the system is behaving better than we do. It is always easier to get a feel for the system when it is directly in front of the user, so I would trust your judgment over mine with the RMA.

Thanks, Writhciden. I'm going to do a little more google digging, check around the OCZ forums and such. If I don't get random BSODs I think I'll stick with the system as long as it is stable. Otherwise, I'll RMA and hope for the best. Thanks, again, for your time with me.

I'm doing a system image right now and going to go back to my RAID 0 WD drives and see if everything runs smoothly. Then if it does, I'll RMA the SSD. I came to this conclusion because I can barely even load my game without an error or bSOD. So, I'm almost positive it's the SSD. I'll be reporting back and letting you know!

Thanks,
Twistedben

Well, good news, Writh.
It was the SSD all along. Must have been defective. I reinstalled windows and all my stuff on my RAID 0 WD caviar blacks and everything is fine. Not a single BSOD and my games run perfectly, no startup repair issues, either. Going to RMA my SSD, and then when I get a new one, I MIGHT put it into my laptop; otherwise, Imma steer clear of SSDs till my next computer upgrade in 2 years.
Thanks for riding with me through this journey, man. You've been a big help.
