Solved BSOD 116 at seemingly random times on upgraded computer

Hi Everyone

I am experiencing random BSOD's on my recently upgraded computer.
All of them state that it's a 116 error with atikmpag.sys as the cause.

I have run memtest and had 8 passes (almost 15 hours) without errors and also run prime95 blend test for a few hours without errors.

Both CPU and GPU run at stock speeds i.e. no overclocking.

I can't find anything specific causing it, but it seems to only happen when the system is not under load. i.e. web browsing with nothing running in the background.

I had a few crashes yesterday but lost them due to windows crashing repeatedly. I had to reinstall everything today which is why I only have one minidump available.

The upgraded components are CPU, motherboard, RAM, and SSD's. prior to the upgrade all the components ran without problems.

If there is anything missing in this ost feel free to point it out.

I'm trying to get this posted before another bsod ;-)

I hope you guys can give me some pointers on what to try next.

edit: Just wanted to mention that I have attached the files generated as instructed.

Forgot to mention that i have tried the following steps in this post:

http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...op-0x116-video_tdr_error-troubleshooting.html

Furmark
Prime95
SFC /scannow (even reinstall windows)

disabled any and all overclocking even motherboard auto adjusted bios settings
disabled any GPU overclocking from AMD CCC

ran VMT but couldn't get it to test all my ram I think ( I might need some instructions here)

removed and reinstalled drivers
removed and reinstalled directx

Only 65 updates after SP1 - most systems have 70 or more. Please visit Windows Update and download/install all available Windows Updates.

Kaspersky dates from early 2011 (some drivers date from 2009) - I'd strongly suggest either upgrading to the latest version or removing it and using a free antivirus.

Your NaturalPointOptitrack driver dates from 2009 - please update this or remove it from your system
Driver Reference Table - npusbio_x64.sys

Your Logitech Game Panel software dates from 2009 - please update this or remove it from your system
Driver Reference Table - LGPBTDD.sys

Your Logitech keyboard drivers date from 2009 - please update this.
Driver Reference Table - LGBusEnum.sys

Recently we've seen quite a few issues with USB XBox controllers. The drivers date from 2009 and there aren't any updates available. Please uninstall the software and remove the device from your system until we've made the system stable again.

TuneUp Utilities driver dates from 2009. Please uninstall it from your system.
Driver Reference Table - TuneUpUtilitiesDriver64.sys

If the above things don't help with the problems that you're experiencing, I'd have to suggest trying another video card to see if that fixes the problems. DO NOT buy a new one unless you can get your money back if it doesn't fix things.

Thanks for your quick reply.

As I had a Radeon HD 6970, I knew to be good, lying around I decided to try that first.

So far so good; no BSOD's :)
So everything points to a faulty card or faulty drivers.

I have since found a post on another forum where a user has he exact same behaviour as me, and his system works if he disconnects all but one monitor from his setup. Or running on the original 7970 release candidate drivers from the card launch.

I will try test his method later today and report back.

Well as of now I have run without BSOD's on the RC11 drivers for the radeon 7970 for 6-7 hours.

Thanks for the graphics card pointer.

I will mark this problem as solved.
