BSOD 1a & 50 win7 Pro

I've been getting multiples per day now. started slow - happened a couple times a week but is now much more aggrivating. This machine is in our storage room and used for playing DVDs and Videos while on the treadmill, doesn't get much use other than that. As far as troubleshooting goes, I have pulled the HD3450 and am just using onboard graphics now. I've also tried each of the 1gb sticks alone as well as pulling the 2x2gb sticks from another computer in the house (same MB) and the 1a and 50's keep on coming. I have run memtest86 on the 2x1gb for 12 hours with no errors. When I've tried prime95 (and walked away) I can always get a BSOD. Tonight I got one, copied the memory.dmp to the computer I analyze on and it BSOD'd again within 30 minutes.

system info:

windows 7 pro x86 64 bit
re-Installed this weekend (I have an upgrade but wiped the disk)
2gb Mushkin DDR2 5300
Abit i45CV mb
500gb sata hd
LG IDE DVD drive

Hardware is probable 3-5 years old. OS as stated above is a new install with full wipe.

I've got 7 2gb memory.dmp files that I've captures and stored off. running windbg on them gets this:

I don't know if everything is identical but ntkrnlmp.exe is always the image name.

Virtually all memory management.

Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.


1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

2-Driver verifier

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Thanks for the reply. I did run memtest86 for 12 hours - about 8 passes on the two 1gb modules previously. Running the driver check, it came up with an outdated marvel lan driver which I have updated. I've pulled one of the modules and kicked off memtest86 again. Plan is to test both modules in both slots (individually) for 8 to 10 passes. Should that suffice?

Yes it should. Now turn off verifier and wait and see.

OK, ran memtest (v4.20) for a couple of days now - I tested each stick in each of the slots. 17 - 31 passes depending on when i remembered to check it. No errors reported at all. After putting them in and booting to windows, I have had 3 blue screens in the last couple of hours - the last one was while trying to type a repsonse here. The others were unattended, no activity going on at all. Here's the latest data dump. The uniblue driver scanner now shows perfect when I run it as well. Anything else I can try?

Virtually all of these were related to memory management as you can see. Its either your memory (which seems to have passed) or a driver. I am unsure you have run verifier correctly.

Thank you Zigzag, I apologize for not reading as carefully as I should have. I went of another post about the driver verifier and had not run the verifier instructions as posted. I have gotten a few BSODs after getting verifier setup including some new ones - 4e and d1. Here are the current dump logs.

driver verified and related to your directx. I would start by re-installing BOTH your video driver and direrctX
