Hello
And thanks in advance for any assistance given ^^

Ok, so I installed a new game on my BF's computer and either I get this fixed or I will be a corpse on the sidewalk by the time he gets back.. No Pressure..

The stop is 0x00000050
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

The Specs are:
Win7 Ultimate 64bit Full Retail
The pc itself is ~8 months old
I dont know if its the first time he reinstalled the os but i think its also ~8 months

I followed some directions given to me by my friend and did the following:

Checked ram using Memtes86+
Cleaned physically what I could clean (he cleans it regularly)
Used Driver Reviver and installed all the latest drivers
Used SuperAntiSpywere, Spybot Search and destroy and Microsoft Security something
Disk checked
Using cmd I also typed something a friend suggested svc/something (dont remember sorry)
Registery cleaned using Tune Up and Ccleaner
Defrag
And windows update

While installing the game (ME3) I got some errors from the keyboard profiler (some fancy keyboard called logitech g510) so I tried using a different keyboard and uninstalling the drivers ofc.
Not to mention that I uninstalled the game..

Still no matter what I tried after approximately 10 to 40 minutes in win7 ultimate I get this screen. note that I can stay in safe mod forever and nothing happens.

Pls Pls Pls help me with this!
He gets back in 2 days and ill be homeless
(not the first time I ruined hes Pc..)

The above software probably damaged Windows and programs even further.
  • Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ws-7-a.html?filter[2]=Performance Maintenance.

  • We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes. If you need help finding driver updates for a certain device, please start a thread in Drivers - Windows 7 Forums instead of using software. Driver updates are not always necessary and some updates can actually decrease system stability rather than increase it, so it is usually better not to update unless a device or its driver is causing problems with the system. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My first suggestion is to use http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html to restore to a point prior to when you installed the game and all the above software that likely caused more damage than it repaired. Pay close attention to OPTION ONE step 8. and the NOTE: in step 8.

Hi Dona,

Looks like we responded to your post here:
BSOD after ~10 minutes in Windows - TechSpot Forums

To ensure continuity, we recommend following up on the thread specified above to arrive at a solution and get your computer back in order.

We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes.

I beg to differ on the generalization here. Not ALL driver updating programs are equal, in terms of design, accuracy and reliability of operation.

In the case of Driver Reviver, devices are identified based on their exact DEV and VEN ID codes and it is possible for our DB to pin point to a specific device or component, to be able to find a driver update for it. The internal code names and numbers are what we use to interact with hardware manufactures and source driver updates from them. Every effort is made at ReviverSoft to filter out drivers or inform the user about issues in detecting the hardware device owning to system specific problems or non-availability of a compatible driver. Offering "similar driver updates" is the last thing any good driver updating utility will do.

My first suggestion is to use System Restore to restore to a point prior to when you installed the game and all the above software that likely caused more damage than it repaired.

The issue at hand has absolutely nothing to do with the installation of the software programs, which took place AFTER the problem started. Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area errors are often caused by Faulty RAM Modules. This is not an uncommon problem.

Quoting Microsoft's explanation here:
0x00000050
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
This Stop message occurs when requested data is not found in memory. The system generates a fault, which normally indicates that the system looks for data in the paging file. In this circumstance, however, the missing data is identified as being located within an area of memory that cannot be paged out to disk. The system faults, but cannot find, the data and is unable to recover. Faulty hardware, a buggy system service (Windows Memory allocation), and a corrupted NTFS volume can all generate this type of error.

Thanks,
ReviverSoft

I do find it interesting that the user was given similar advice about the Reviver software in both BSOD after ~10 minutes in Windows - TechSpot Forums and by me... Sorry if you feel we were incorrect in saying it, but I have seen most of the driver update programs out there cause issues by installing incorrect drivers or buggy drivers. There are also not great reviews for the Reviver product here: reviversoft.com | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT (Web of Trust)

I actually am leery of even accessing the site given the horrible reviews it has gotten for scareware tactics and spreading trojans (although I think some people may have gone a little far with the trojans claim). The views I've given about automatic driver updating are my views and my opinions, but they are backed up by others, and I hope that will make future users use the software with caution, at the very least. Not to mention that I do not believe driver updating should be a routine maintenance task since there are buggy drivers that are released from time to time, and those will decrease stability rather than increasing it. I agree that most often, driver updates maintain or increase stability of the system, but as I said, that is not always the case. I only recommend updating drivers if there are drivers that are known to be causing problems or the hardware the driver is associated with is causing conflicts.

0x50 BugCheck is often memory, but that is not the only cause. Having done my fair share of analysis of blue screen crashes, I have found instances where 0x50 was caused by any number of things including drivers that are either out of date or were updated to buggy versions, defective hardware (not necessarily memory, but usually memory), damaged system services or conflicts due to services, antivirus software, hard disk corruption or bad sectors, out of date BIOS, and even a cracked Windows installation. Recently, I have seen a number of 0x50 BugChecks due to a cracked Windows installation, in fact.
