BSOD after 8gb RAM upgrade ntoskrnl.exe+6f400

Dell OptiPlex i5-3470
Win 7 Pro 64bit

Had 4gb installed and no issues ever.

2x 2GB 1Rx8 PC3-12800U 11-12-A1 was the factory installed RAM

Ordered 8gb from Dell

VisionTek
2x 4GB Black Label PC3-10600 LP
CLP 1333MHz

Dumped 3 times today at seemingly random times. I believe at all three times I had a Remote Desktop session open as well as Firefox.

Any help is much appreciated

I went to remove the hosts file cause its a work machine. While doing that it BSOD again so I've update the dump file and re attached it.

Ok mate nothig I can put my finger on not that I am any great expert - the thing is you said this happened after you installed more RAM.
If you put the old RAM back does this happen? - am just wondering if the new RAM is maybe bad somehow plus it is a slower speed RAM at that too with different timings and I am wondering why Dell should sell you a slower speed RAM .

I think personally it would have been better to install one stick of 8GB 1600MHz RAM because at least it would have been in one spot so to speak and not having the machine access the RAM in two different channels.

haven't put the old RAM back in yet, but I'm leaning towards that. IT said do a restore back to a date prior to the RAM being installed and try again. I guess the thought is install updates and patches with the 8gb in rather then use the updates that were patched with the 4gb. To me, that makes ZERO sense. But if I want to RMA the bad memory sticks, I suppose I have to follow the rules.

Yes mate try the old RAM again and like you said I can see no reason why an upadte or restore would make any difference because the RAM is a physical component it is not affected by updates or any software that I am aware of except that some OS software will not support certain sorts of RAM

For example say the board only supported up to 1066MHz RAM and you stuck in 1333MHz RAM then it would only run at the lower speed RAM (unless you have a board that can overclock the RAM) and in some cases if at all. The software support is really related to how much software can be loaded into it. Plus don't forget the CPU can only support so much RAM that you can Google the CPU in your machien and it will tell you in the specs on the Intel site this is my main laptop CPU Intel® Coreâ„¢ i7-4770HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz) Specifications and see pic

Ran a memory test from BIOS. Couple of exceptions on one of the DIMM's. Reported that it passed but I have to think that that might be the issue. RAM is going to get returned for new/proper speed DIMM's. Will report back later

Now before you do anything run this memtest it is the only one we recommend and it must run for at least 8 passes and you will be able to id the offending sticks. Now it takes a while to do but if errors come up quick then you can stop it then test each stick in a slot until you find the offender.

The test if it comes up errors then it can also mean one of the slots might be bad too see pic of what it looks like
