BSOD after installing new power supply

OK, I know why windows defender offline didn't show up on logs. For some reason, the PC rebooted on its own during the scan and I thought this was just an auto reboot after scan was finished because I was AFK when I did the first scan. This time I made sure to watch it and got it completely scanned. There were no harmful threats found, only detected wpepro and an old keygen for a game my nephew downloaded once (which i removed post-scan) as potential threats. Uninstalled Realtek driver and installed the suggested one. As said before, I will run the memtest tonight due to it's very long run-time.

............you don't see those actions done because I uninstalled virtual clonedrive through the control panel..........
Well, Virtual CloneDrive is not yet uninstalled.

I am not sure why you believe I am not following your directions as I have done everything you have requested. I uninstalled virtualclonedrive the day you mentioned it. I would have no reason to lie to you about it. Is it possible when I uninstalled it that it didn't do full uninstall? How would I go about doing this? I looked for the folder in program files and it is completely empty. I am confused how you reacted to this situation. Why would you assume I'm refusing to do what you ask and not assume possibly it didn't remove drivers properly during uninstall?

If the program is uninstalled, the driver should not stay there. I found that driver from the latest dump (a solitary dump you uploaded). As always, this one also indicated to these things ....
Code:
fffff880`026965c8 fffff880`01010731 [COLOR=Red]ataport[/COLOR]!IdeProcessPortNotification+0x30d
fffff880`026965f0 fffff880`00ec3604 [COLOR=Red]atapi[/COLOR]!AtapiHwStartIo+0x14
atapi.sys and ataport.sys, both are storage controller drivers .... used when the storage controller is set to IDE mode. Those two are for ATA Channels.

g4uh.jpg

As those are system native drivers, they usually does not fail. But they are must vulnerable for a special type of malware called rootkit. So I suggested your those two scans. Is both of them came negative, it may be decided that there is no rootkit infection.

Then what may the cause be? Non-existence of device but existence of SCSI adapter controlling that device may cause that error. Virtual Clone Drive is such a device that does not exist physically. And Vclone.sys installs a SCSI adapter there (explained in my posts clearly). As far as it is present there, the failure is all possible.

You are saying that you have uninstalled the program, then why the driver is still present? And, the before last log you supplied, that indicated that VirtualCloneDrive is still installed.

Dont know why you did not follow the BSOD posting instructions last time, but I am sure that there would be more proof that the program is present, as the crash dump proves it.

If you want to get rid of it; and as per your statement that uninstall is not working properly, then you can do one thing only ...... http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html . We need to get rid of that program, anyhow.

If it is the same even after the clean reinstall, it is supposed to be hardware issue. But before blaming the hardware, it is better to remove all the known causes.

So you know what is the option left there. Do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html .

So I googled virtualclonedrive uninstall and have found that others had the same issue as me when uninstalling with the control panel. The drive is still showing in My Computer as elby clonedrive. Also, ISO files are still showing as elby.vcdmount.1. Should I uninstall this driver in the snapshot? Was hoping to actually find the culprit to all these BSOD without having to do clean windows install.

 No! :zip:
cdrom.sys is simply the SCSI CD-ROM driver. It is also a system element.

The drive under discussion is c:\windows\system32\drivers\vclone.sys . But I think manual deletion of the driver will not do anything positive there.

You opt for a clean reinstall.

Still getting BSODs after clean windows install..Confused why I am still getting them. Got 8 passes/0 fails on memtest and chkdsk ran fine. Only other hardware possibilities is my graphics card or motherboard. Anyway, here are the dumps.

You have confirmed that you checked for Virus and there is no rootkit?

Also after teh Clean reinstall, there is no Vclone.sys as expected.

But still it exists there.

You are saying that your 200 GB Maxtor HDD is really free from any errors? If so, Change the SATA and Power cables. Connect the SATA cable to another SATA port on the motherboard.

If still it occurs the same, we have to decide the bad thing.

I forced you for the clean reinstall, I agree. Just as a precaution before saying that the motherboard is faulty.

I went without BSOD for about 3 days then when I rebooted my PC for the first time after those 3 days I resumed to get BSODs. By that time, I went ahead and re-seated all my memory sticks, graphics card, and changed to a different SATA connector on the motherboard. Booted up fine for about 20 minutes then started getting BSOD again. Here are the dmp files after the re-seats and connector change. I'm starting to see a pattern when the BSODs occur. About every time I reboot the PC, it will do a series of 3 or so BSOD then run completely fine until the next time I reboot.

So now I got another issue. The PC will just shut off without any BSOD. This happens rarely but still annoying. Normally have to wait a minute or so to boot back up. Can that be related to a bad motherboard or just overheating? I recently installed a temp. monitor to see what the max temps are when it happens again.

Mate you please run mamtest for one more time. Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

After 8 passes, take a snapshot of the screen using a camera and upload the photograph here.

And let us know the temperature of the system after one hour of run. Upload a snapshot Using Speccy.

Not seeing any reason for such BSODs other than failing hardware. (RAM/PSU/CPU/Motherboard).
