I am running a HP G62 435DX Laptop with AMD Turion II P540 dual core processor, have received multiple blues screens and lockups so i did a reinstall to factory condition, still got blue screens, HP said that my extra recovery D Drive was probably infected with malware which i disagreed with so they sent me the 3 dvds to reinstall everything and it was running good for a day then 2 freezes and tonight first BSOD, no message but i am gonna include the dump file, I have a feeling that my memory may have dust in there or is not seated right but I have not opened the laptop yet. HP says if I open it they will not replace it if it is bad. I really need a response here please, Its windows 7 64 bit OS and i just installed all the windows updates available, I probably shouldnt have installed the optional ones, but i did. I hope you can read this dump file if notg please let me know.

IF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY DONT OPEN IT.

It may very well be infected. Before you go any further download Malwarebytes and run it

Malwarebytes : Download free malware, virus and spyware tools to get your computer back in shape!

Also since this one crash log appears to point to an OS file please run a system file check

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

It may need to be run up to three times before successful
Let us know the results from the report at the end.

Depends on how you installed it. If you did not format the drive the malware can easily be present.

If you did, it may still be present in the MBR (master Boot Record). Better safe than sorry.

You cant run both at the same time.

What were the malwarebytes results?

SFC ?

no i know that, no problems found at all, i am now running sfc again, then i will do a full scan with Microsoft security essentials, but i really think its something like dust build up inside, dirty memory contacts, or a loose connection inside i wish i could go inside man. I am A+ certified but i never saw this before

Both are inconclusive.

Just to do some additional testing I would run these two tests.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

1-Memtest.
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

2-Driver verifier

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

You can disable verifier in safe mode by typing verifier /reset in cmd

If you cant get into safe mode you can boot from the win 7 dvd and hit shift +F10 to bring up the cmd prompt then type verifier there

You did follow the instructions and do a back up right?

I have backed up whatever i need because i just reinstalled windows 7 yesterday, i really dont want to send this computer back to HP but thats what they said to do since i only have 39 days left on warranty. If i can fix it before they send me the box it will be great, i am going to upload whatever more dumps i can and wait for a response with something i can do to help, its not bluescreening now but it will again soon, i just want to know what could be causing the errors so i can update the driver or rollback the driver or check the memory card slot for dirt or looses contacts, i really thought the RAM stick was loose but they told me not to open the laptop because its under warranty so i may have to send it back and be without for 2 weeks!!!! My worst nightmare
I will upload my newest dumps now

None of these are driver verified

This newest one Related to
i8042prt.sys i8042 Port Driver from Microsoft Corporation

Seems like all of these relate to ports in some way shape or form.

At some point it is just going to be easier to do a clean install rather than trying to fix a flawed OS.

Thanks yes but i have done that! i can do it again tonight but it wakes 3 dvds and i just did it yesterday and still got these problems!!!!!
i uploaded another one that has all my blue screens, can you see by the dates which ones are old
yes i saw a couple of these i8042 ones a few days ago
so maybe i was doing ok until i installed all these windows updates last night Is there any windows updates that are optional that I should not install? it seems like the updates have caused this problem this time.
if you can read the newest minidump file and see if anything else rings a bell and i really appreciate your help, i am probably going to send the laptop back to hp tomorrow or saturday but i dont want to, Thanks again

I think it is when microsoft windows live essentials installed and updated both days i have had this problem. I am going to try uninstalling this new Windows Live Essentials, now I realize after reading some other posts that many people are having BSODS after installing windows live essentials and a beta version, i am pretty sure it updated by itself however but i know that before I had windows live essentials on my cpu i never had any blue screens so i will now try that...

HEY i think i may have fixed this, I finally was able to locate a program and key that helped me to not only search the registry for errors, but repair them and it found 84 directx errors in my registry, also i defragged my registry, and then i notice that I have been on computer for over 6 hours and running lots of programs and no bluescreen or freezes. the program is called Registry Repair Wizard, and of all the things i tried, so far this seems to have made the biggest difference, if anybody wants info about this program reply here and i will send you link...
