Hi, my daughters machine has started misbehaving today with a few blue screens and other erratic issues. When I check Windows/Minidump I have just 1 entry which I have attached in hope someone can shed some light on the BSOD issue, but when I go to "Disk Cleanup" I have 554MB of "system error memory dump files", where can I find these files please?

I have installed SDK for Windows 8.1 hoping I can have a look at these files, but can someone explain(in simple terms) to me about symbols and an address to use to get symbols? I have done this once before(long time ago) but I am very much a noob when it comes to exploring dump files although very keen to learn more.

Any help or guidance very much appreciated!

Unfortunately, its not that easy to explain how to analyse a .dmp file in a thread such as this. However, you can setup WinDBG with the symbols by following this:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/355137-windbg-install-configure-bsod-analysis.html

In terms of the .dmp file, its inconclusive, but 0xF4 bugecks are often an indication of a hard disk problem. Please run the DOS version of SeaTools to check the health of the hard disk:

You can delete older versions of the .dmp files by logging in as the computer administartor, then opening up Windows Explorer and choosing to show Hidden Files and Folders:

View attachment 343676

Now browse to C:\Windows\Minidump and delete all the .dmp files you do not require.
