The last 2 days my computer which has a solidstate boot drive has been hanging at boot, then once windows loads I have 2-3 mins of use until BSOD. I have a suspicion that my video card may be going wonky but need help making sure before I replace.

The machine is about 2 years old. Since I installed the SSD about a year ago my boot time was 23 seconds, the last few days it takes about 45-1 min to get to a usable state. I had the GUI boot disabled so it was just like 8 teal hash marks in the upper left corner of the screen when a normal PC would have the windows loading screen. The last few days I get a highly scrambled bar extending from those teal hash marks until the pc fully boots, then a random BSOD. but it no BSOD I can use the PC for hours on end with no issue.

Lotor mate the temps look fine but try reseating the card and the RAM sticks and while you are at it check out to the volts on the PSU .
(A little tinker of mine is to clean he slots as well see at bottom)

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/86648-psu-jump-start.html the important one the 12v rail/s should be between 11.4v (min) and 12.6v (max) remember though correct volts does not mean correct current.

However I think personally the finger is pointing at that card mate

Slots:
Now as for the slots to clean them use astrip of old credit card about 1/2 inch wide nip the corners off one end - preferably round them off hold apiece of thin lint free cloth over the end dab on some form of alcohol - isopropyl alcohol (what we swab the skin with before an injection) is good and GENTLY swipe along the slots.

This can also be done for the GPU slot/s.

Now it might be an idea to run this

By nay chance you haven't been running a defrag on that drive?? as it and a chkdsk also are no no's

Sorry about the delayed response (daughter got sick so was taking care of her). I ended up doing the re-seating video card/RAM which stopped the BSOD.

As to the long boot time, I turned GUI boot back on which got rid of the weird colored line & showed me that check disk was trying to run on my D drive every time I booted. This HD is a clone of another HD that we have locked up, something must have gone screwy with the cloning process because it showed a bunch of the picture files that check disk couldn't fix. I deleted those files & have not had a boot issue since.
