Hello,

my computer started getting BSOD (thread_stuck_in_device_driver) after recovering from sleep mode (I was using windows 10 back then). I tried reinstalling all kinds of drivers but without any help, my computer couldn't boot after shutdown, I would get BSOD, but after restart it booted normally. I started thinking that my GPU is faulty, but yesterday I went to my friend's, and we tried my GPU on his PC, (Windows 7 x64) with Catalyst drivers 14.9, and everything worked perfectly. So today I formatted my disk, made fresh Windows 7 install, installed all my motherboard drivers, and lastly Catalyst drivers 14.9, shutdown my computer and got BSOD just like on Windows 10. I also tried MEMTEST and it ran for 10 passes without errors, my PSU is year old so it should be good (Corsair tx 650), so I don't know what's wrong with my computer. :(

It is a 0x116 what means the graphics drivers didn't respond, your graphics drivers are very old.
I recommend to cleanly update the AMD drivers
Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Be sure to ONLY install the drivers by following below tutorial
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...install-without-catalyst-install-manager.html
Also make sure to update your installation by visiting Windows Update.

I think problem lays somewhere else, not drivers only. It's worth saying that I also updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version, but today I tried installing 2 drivers by the given instructions in your previous post. The exact same thing happened when turning my computer on from shutdown. Everything is up to date, but somehow it doesn't work ( same thing was on Windows 10, all updates were installed ).

Here's new file.

Also make sure to update your installation by visiting Windows Update.
I'll repeat this, you are missing a lot of updates, most others have a few 100 hotfixes installed.
Code:
Hotfix(s): 2 Hotfix(s) Installed.

So I clicked on check for updates in control panel, left my computer for 8 hours, and it's still checking for it, no progress at all. I don't know if I'm doomed or something but seems like every possible thing that could go wrong, went wrong.

But to be honest, even if all updates were installed, I'm 99% sure that BSOD problem would not be solved as I was running windows 10 two days ago, which had all updates installed, and everything was 100% up to date but BSOD was still there.

Should I leave my computer to "check for updates" for some more time, even though it seems like nothing will happen, or is there any other thing that might be worth checking because I really think updates are not the issue, as seen on Windows 10.

Thanks

Diagnostics Test

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

I ran sfc for the first time, and it said: "Windows resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
I rebooted, ran it once again, and got the same message: "Windows resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

I kinda lost it so I formated my disk once again, and installed fresh Windows 10. Made all the updates (checking for updates does not take the whole eternity like in win7 lol), and updated my gpu drivers. During that process my computer restarted several times, and booted successfuly every time. I tried to shut it down, once I turn it back on, got the BSOD (THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER). So I guess I'll post my BSOD dump file to Windows 10 forums.

Thanks for the help.

1 problem with installing Windows 10, Gigabyte doesn't provide drivers for your motherboard after Windows 7. That'll garanteed bring problems for your system.

But everything worked flawlessly for a whole year, never had any problems. Maybe it's possible that some windows 10 update corrupted everything?

Meanwhile in that year Windows changed with how it works, reason why there are driver updates
