BSOD after update

Hello,

I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and just then I updated it (it installed 15 "important" updates, including IE10). I logged on, and my desktop was black and it had that little window that said "Personalized Settings" in the corner. Then it disappeared and my desktop went back to normal and my icons came up. I decided to try out IE10 so I opened it and I got a BSOD stop error! I can't provide you with the error codes and all that because I missed them while I was panicking that my computer might have a virus!

I have Norton which cost me 40 bucks, but it didn't give me any virus alerts. It couldn't be a RAM overload because I have 4GB and you can't use 4GB of RAM 5 mins after starting up your computer and opening nothing but IE.

So, why could this be? My only guesses are either a virus or a corrupt update.

Please help.

Regards,
