BSOD after updating Intel Wifi drvs & pixma mx700 printer SW & drvs

After loading 64 bit drivers for my canon mx700 printer, updating the firmware on my Asus RT-AC66U router and my intel wifi drivers on Monday, my laptop started crashing instead of going to sleep.

It began doing so last yesterday morning, or Monday night, and did it again last night.

Another test, try to downgrage the drivers to scanner/printer.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

BSOD continues.

Hello

I uninstalled all of the Intel and Canon printer software and drivers.

I reinstalled the most current Intel on their site(Wireless_16.1.1_s64); the network controller will NOT install. Not sure why as I uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled the driver twice.

I disabled the Intel WiMax network controller, went to the Toshiba site and installed the Realtek Ethernet controller that was part of this Toshiba's lap top original suite (a665-s6086 model #)

I went into the computer manager and added the Printer using the MS OS via the network.

I cleared out the start up menu per your instructions.

Not sure where the USB 3.0 information is coming from as this laptop does not support it.

I reran a report this morning and have attached it.

Your Toshiba External is a USB3 device.

Disable USB Selective Suspense, at least as a test.
USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

Done. per instructions.

Not sure why the Toshiba external drive is showing up as a USB 3.0 device. It isn't, I've had it for several years as my back up drive.

I performed the recommended tasks last night.

I also changed the sleep settings from hibernate to sleep; it was set to hibernate only originally.

I think you should go for a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html right now. After completion, when adding drivers and devices, be careful and cautions .... it will help you to identify the culprit behind the issue.

This would be my 2nd clean reinstall.

I cloned the drive early on, just in case. Would that be acceptable?

No, a lean install from scratch is required, so that it may be traced that what point of addition of other stuff makes this system unstable.
