BSOD after upgrading memory from 512 to 2GB on laptop

*I am new and welcome positive education on forum etiquette.
I recently upgraded a Toshiba Satellite laptop to 2gb memory from 512. Both sticks are identical. They were purchased within the same package. I also installed Win 7 Prem on the HDD that was originally built with Vista Basic. Once in a while I get a BSOD. I downloaded the windbg, and to be honest got very lost on the symbols instructions. I ran a memory test as that seemed to be the only change. It did not find any errors. The Computer>System Properties reads the 2gb newly installed memory. However, when I go into the BIOS, it says System Memory 633 kb.
-My question is do I need to reset the BIOS when aftergrading the memory? I used the Grab All tool to capture the .dmp file. I have also attached my system info to my Seven Forum profile.
If you can kindly provide me some guidance I would greatly appreciate it. I have read the threads and did not come to a conclusion. Thank you in advance.

Thank you Arc for the reply. I will follow you guidance. Yes, anti virus is on the schedule. Everything is at fresh install to date. Win 7 and memory upgrade is about 2 weeks old. I have only installed office to date. Virus program has not yet been installed.
