Solved BSOD after windows update

I got a number of BSOD's yesterday and spent the whole evening trying to restore my computer which i did but now certain things don't work like my windows troubleshooter,DS3 tool to mention a few. The only changes i made prior to getting BSOD was first installing Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier and then performing windows update. After spending several hours on Google this morning i came across sfc/scannow which has helped to show me what exactly is wrong,i just don't know how to fix it. All help is appreciated,thanks in advance.

Upload your dump files firstly:

%SystemRoot%\Minidump - Kernel Minidump

%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP - Kernel Dump

You can substitute the %SystemRoot% for where Windows 7 is installed, which is usually C:\Windows\

Make sure that Windows has also been configured to produce a dump file upon a BSOD:

Run System File Checker at boot, this will scan for any corrupted or missing protected Windows 7 files, and attempt to repair these files automatically if possible:

Run full scans with:

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller
• Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
• Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

My system root has the mini dump folder but its empty. I checked to see whether windows is set to produce a kernel memory dump and it was,i haven't tampered with that. Running scans with the suggested programs then i sfc/scannow at boot then i get back to u. Thanks for taking the time to help.

No more BSOD's Malwarebytes removed one item,the same as Microsoft security essentials. TDSSkiller found nothing. On restart an error-checking disk scan on C, i had scheduled,ran and fixed "bad clusters" some of the names i recognized from the sfcdetails.txt others i knew not of. I haven't run the sfc scan from boot yet as i will be getting the win 7 repair disk later today. I also run a sfc/scannow from the desktop to see if the check disk scan fixed all the problems and it showed that it was unable to fix all so i will post the results after running the command prompt from boot. Grateful for the help mate

I hav run the sfc using the repair disk and i got a BSOD after restart with STOP :0x000000C4 a number of times as windows wasn't loading i had to go into safe mode and disable driver verifier for windows to load. The sfc scan using the repair disk said that it didn't fix some errors i hav uploaded the dump files

Here's a simple explanation for the Stop 0xC4:

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught.  This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and [COLOR="red"]0xA[/COLOR] will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.

Stop 0xA was the first bugcheck before the 0xC4, therefore I suggest you uninstall the program related to this driver as it is causing problems for your system.

Uninstall Connectify LightWeight Filter:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\cnnctfy2.sys

Iv uninstalled connectify but the file u said to uninstall was still there so i deleted it manually. But after all this my computer runs like normall except certain programs have been deleted or are not working and i havent tampered with them! Like yesterday toshiba lost a few apps and today the whole folder is empty. thank you for helping

Your welcome, you can mark this thread as solved if you are confident that your system is stable, if they were pre-installed programs then I wouldn't worry since they are usually bloatware which can slow or corrupt your system.

They may also have been linked to the Connectify program.
