Your modem drivers are from 2007, please update them or uninstall the modem.

This error is inconclusive, but is likely due to a malfunctioning service (from this entry in the Stack Text: nt!KiSystemServiceCopyEnd+0x13

Have you done anything recently that may have caused this - installed or changed a system process?

If not, then I'd suggest running Driver Verifier. Please read the instructions carefully as Driver Verifier can prevent your system from booting into Windows:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Automatically select unsigned drivers" and click "Next"
If no drivers show up, then select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.
Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line.

i went start>right click computer>properties>device manager>modems>

then i right clicked on PCI soft data fax modem with smartCP update driver software and it says i already have the best software.

Anyways I'm rendering a video now and waiting for the BSOD so my computer will crash any second now lol.

Then i'll upload the new minidump but how will this give you different results? if it is too complicated it's fine just tell me. I know I'm a noob and i accept that haha

(and yes i followed your instructions and it all seemed to work perfectly...although when i restarted my computer it sorta froze and i held the power button and force restarted it)

i know but i'm done rendering the video...that was what caused the BSOD and it never came...like i said it may have been just luck because the BSOD happens only around 80% of the time what i'm gonna do now is try rendering a different video, and see what happens

Ok so no bsod. lets take a look in event viewer (type event viewer in search) and lokk at the application tab. see what kind of errors are listed that refer to vegas and not thier error and source. you could use the snipping tool (snipping tool in search) to snip and upload it to us to see.

Don't use the Update Driver software function in Device Manager. Go to the website of the manufacturer of the device and download the drivers from there. If you can't locate them that way (at times modem drivers can be a real pain), then try the Gateway support website.

Download the version there, uninstall the current device, then install the freshly downloaded drivers. Even if you have the most recent drivers you'll still need to do this to remove any corruption that could be occurring.

Driver Verifier does things that stress the drivers - so the behavior of the system may change (as you've seen). Just keep using the system normally until it BSOD's. Most times it'll BSOD with a Driver Verifier error.

If it doesn't (after a day or two), then we'll change some of the settings to see if we can coax it into crashing.
