Hi
first, I have Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a ASUS laptop
while browsing the web, i first experienced a completely random BSOD, followed by a complete shutdown about a second later
on restarting, the BIOS appeared as normal, only to then say "operating system not found"
after checking the BIOS, I found that for some reason the boot order had been shifted and the BIOS was trying to boot from my usb
after shifting the boot order, my computer booted fine
a complete scan with antivirus found no problems
chkdsk found no problems
can someone tell me wtf happened?

BSOD's are not that unusual. we can tell you the cause but need the file called DMP created when it BSOD'ed

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the appropriate section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.
