Bsod and crazy screen freeze issue

I'm getting this crazy screen freeze issue. My screen will go into a crazy plaid type pattern for a few then just freeze. also random blue screens of death. i've reinstalled windows from scratch. if anybody can help it would be appreciated.

This looks and sounds like a hardware problem; RAM is a likely culprit. Try running Memtest86, as well as the Blend and Large FFTs Prime95 tests.
