I built a new PC last July 2012, and ever since then I'm getting BSOD's and freezes at random. I can install programs but when I try to run them, I get freezes/blue screens. Also happens when I install updates for Windows. I've attached all the files from all the blue screens.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Stop any kind of overclocking. Reset any changed values back to default. Then go through this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html

You have 32 GB ram, make sure all the ram clocks are the same.

BSOD during download of Installer

I'm currently downloading an online game installer (HoN), and around 70% - 80% the pc bsod twice. I don't know what's causing this, and I just got my cpu from the service center two days ago (since it had a lot of bsod's in the past, and its under warranty.)

Help would be very much appreciated.

Hello Animate.

The latest display driver is sometimes problematic. Roll it back to the earlier stable version.

Uninstall AVG.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the results.

I removed AVG, installed Microsoft Essentials and MBAM. Did a full scan on each program and detected nothing.

I didn't remove the nVidia Driver though because the current version of the driver is GeForce 306.97, from Windows Update. Should I still remove it and install the one you recommended?

Your decision.

As it crashed on display driver, and my personal and debugging experience says that the version 306.97 is problematic, I suggested it.

If you dont like to, you need not.

When I was downloading the installer you recommended, at around 80-85%, it BSOD with a label "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION". Perhaps there's really something wrong with the latest display driver.

I've attached the minidump if you'd like to take a look at it.

BSOD when PC left idle for downloading

I left my PC hours ago to download/reinstall a game from Steam, and I monitored it for the few hundred MB's (probably around 400MB) before I went to sleep at around 12:30am. When I woke up 'round 5:20am to check if my game has finished its download, I saw that it has crashed hours ago and resumed its download from 1.5G/2.7G. I didn't know what caused the crash, but the BCCode 50 showed up in the menu.

Attached below are the files I got from the diagnostic tool. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Arc, I installed the driver you suggested to me and have not getting any more crashes related to the video card. Instead, appcrash and apphang caused by scaleformui_4.dll have been appearing.

Bump. Another BSOD after playing Dota 2 and just surfin' the net, BCCode 3b. Updated the minidump attachment from above.

Hi, I'm sorry I've been away for awhile because of thesis work. Anyway, I've enabled driver verifier for 24 hours and no BSOD whatsoever. However after the 24hrs, BSODS have been coming up again, same when I play Dota 2.

I've attached the additional dumps. Hope it helps.

Thanks Arc. I've not yet done step 2 and 4, but have done step 3 and the two scans, all are normal.

I've received yet another BSOD (twice), yet again, from the same problem when I'm playing Dota2. Attached below are the files. +Rep for helping me out for quite a time now.

So you're getting BSOD-s even after reverting to factory clocks?

Yes, I went to BIOS and set everything to normal. There are three options when I go to the motherboard setup; power-saver, normal, and turbo mode settings. I tried turbo mode, then normal, there are times I don't get BSOD, and there are times that I experience BSOD, APPCrash and AppHang. Also, that find.exe error is popping out everytime I play the game, and I don't know what's causing it.
