BSOD and freezing with distorted screen, playing games or videos

My bad for my other thread, did not realize bumping wasn't acceptable. But no reply in a day can be frustrating with these problems xD but i wont bump here and i hope anybody can help:-

For the past few days it started off with just freezes when gaming, with games such as league of legends or steam games. The screen/system would freeze and i would get a buzzing sound from my headset. If i unplug the headset there is no sound from the laptop speakers. Also the screen becomes distorted, i can move the screen up and down and the distortion will disappear/reappear but the system remains frozen which makes me force a power off.
but since yesterday i disabled auto restart and occasionally i will get a BSOD instead with the 0x0000003b ( parameters blabla ) error. I've tried updating drivers / bios running virus/malware scans and removed any threats. But it still persists and is becoming annoying. I don't believe its a hardware problem as i just had the fan replaced and no other problems were found.

it seemed to fix itself for a few days

but i just got a few different errors today i believe a 0x50 0x3b again and a 0x7e, i only had one dump file from the error 7e

I'm currently in safe mode with networking and it hasn't frozen/blue screened.
EDIT: forgot to mention i did a video/memory test 10 passes and no errors and just did a sfc scan with no errors

Hi billypie.

The crash dumps are all different in a short span. Which indicates to some sort of hardware failure. Plus the screen glitches.

Let us try with some hardware tests.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Let us know the results.

I will do these tests tonight. With it working in safe mode would that change anything about it?

You will not be able to stress test the GPU in Safe mode.

What i mean is, i can use the laptop in safe mode without worry and no freezing/bsod at all. But when i boot into normal mode, it will occasionally freeze. Usually when i either play a game, watch a video or open steam.

so i'm assuming it has something to do with GPU if i cant test it in safe mode?

From what you said, it appears that your assumption may be true. But better you study the situation with multiple versions of teh display driver installed; before deciding it.

Ok sorry for the long wait, had no internet.

Ok so memtest came back no errors

When i tried to do the GPU test, it was fine for about 5 minutes then my laptop suddenly powered off then restarted itself. ( no BSOD ) i already have automatic restart off. So i assume this can't be fixed without replacing?

Its dumb because it never happened before i got the fan replaced -.-

EDIT: Also when it did restart, the screen didn't come on. I had to hold the power button and wait a few seconds for it to work again

I think that it would be better if you replace the GPU.

hm i see. Do you know how much that would roughly cost? and if it would just be cheaper to buy a new laptop/pc?

I am not very aware of the market condition in wales, but it will cost very little compared to a new computer.
